Student Travel Passes to Help You Discover Canada and Return Home with Ease

Air Canada and Via Rail have put in plans to facilitate student travel by making it more affordable and flexible. Travel is an important part of student life to take into account when moving away from home to study in Ontario, whether it be to visit family or to discover more of the Canadian landscape. These two programs help get the best value for all types of travel.   Air Canada has the Student Flight Pass, which enables students to purchase a pre-paid package of tickets. This package includes 4 or 6 tickets; these are valid for twelve months after the purchase date and have no blackout dates, meaning they can be used anytime. This package is available for all students with a valid student ID card and a free Aeroplan membership. The Student Flight Pass enables students to travel at a fixed price to Canadian destinations or to the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The tickets can also be potentially highly discounted from the regular price. The pass offers flexible bookings, where students can book their flights as late as one hour before the flight without a price increase. This gives parents and students alike peace of mind, knowing that last-minute travel and changes in plans are possible and easy with this pass.    Via Rail also has a Youth Pass that consists of 5 travel zones within Canada. Each zone contains a part of Ontario. They include destinations that range from Windsor to Quebec City and facilitate easy travel from one city to the next. The Youth Pass is a package of 6 travel credits, which is 6 one-way trips. When selecting seats, students would select the Escape Fare, and earn a 50% discount on Economy Fare if it is sold out. Moreover, students will also be able to get a 25% discount if they wish to upgrade to Business Class. It is available for any youth from 12 to 25 years old with valid proof of age and photo ID, or those aged 26 years old or older with a valid student card or an ISIC card.
