A Professor Explains How We Can Develop Our Capacity for Love in Her New Book

Dr. Bianca Briciu is an Aassistant Professor in the Providence School of Transformative Leadership and Spirituality. She is interested in the cultivation of human potential in all areas of intelligence: cognitive, embodied, emotional, spiritual.  She is currently engaged in research on the transformative effects of mindfulness, empathy and compassion as aspects of emotional intelligence.    In the book the author describes love as a personal emotion and as an intersubjective, ethical experience of connection. It is an invitation to reclaim the power of the human heart from institutional constraints by redefining love as a complex human capability, similar to intelligence or creativity.    Its purpose is to deconstruct cultural myths about love, proposing instead a framework for understanding love’s contribution to the well-being of individuals and social systems. The conscious, intentional commitment to the practice of love leads to interconnectedness,  wholeness and a life lived from the heart.    We invite you to the book launch event  which will feature a conversation with author  Bianca Briciu about the main themes of the new book that deconstructs cultural myths about love and shows its potential.
