Better Together: Celebrating Diversity and Our Multicultural Nation

In Canada, our federal government strives to promote inclusivity and diversity. Supporting this mantra, the 27th of June is nationally recognized as Canadian Multiculturalism Day. The year of 2021 marks a particularly special milestone as it marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Canadian Policy on Multiculturalism. This policy was the first of its kind to exist worldwide, and it was created to recognize the cultural contributions that immigrants bring to Canada, as well as to preserve the freedom to practice one’s culture. Often considered one of the most multicultural countries in the world, it probably comes as no surprise that hundreds of celebrations will take place nationwide to celebrate this annual event.
