Northlander Train Revival to Facilitate Travel Across Ontario

Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, announced plans to return the Northlander passenger train service to northeastern Ontario. The plan is to build 16 stops from Timmins to Toronto, including a rail extension to Cochrane. It will help give more access to health services and connect resources, workers and students across Ontario. This is good news for Timmins, home of a satellite campus for Université de Hearst and one of the hubs of northern Ontario, as it will strengthen access to and from Timmins and the north. This train will also help enable students to explore northern Ontario and facilitate travel throughout the province.
