Preparing for the New School Year
The beginning of or return to class is an exciting time for all post-secondary students, and as the Covid-19 restrictions begin to soften in Canada, our colleges and universities are busy preparing every detail to welcome students back to learning in a combination of virtual and in-person capacities.
An important component of the beginning of the fall semester in Canada is Orientation week (or sometimes, orientation month), as campus staff, faculty and returning students prepare a wide variety of activities to help new students feel comfortable and welcome in their new learning environments. There are often even orientation events or a whole orientation program that is specifically for new international students.
If you are attending one of our institutions this fall, it is important to know the expectations for either virtual learning or returning to campus with during the pandemic, and taking in some orientation events will help you better prepare for the year or years ahead. If you are a prospective student, it will be interesting to learn about orientation plans and school traditions that may continue in the coming years.
