The Mining Industry is Thriving in Sudbury

July 2021 - Mining has been a primary industry in the city of Sudbury for many years, and the success and innovation in the industry continues as the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation has recently earned a $40 million in federal funding to create a network of mining clusters across the country. Among other benefits, the project is set to "leverage at least $100 million in private sector investment, create 900 jobs, start up 12 new businesses and commercialize at least 30 new products, services and processes related to [Canada's] $109-billion sector.
