The University of Sudbury Receives Funding from the Government of Canada

The University of Sudbury is receiving nearly $1.9 million from the federal government to build an institution ‘by and for’ the Francophone community in Northern Ontario, as outlined in the institution’s mandate.

The funding, provided over two years, will allow the University to conduct a study of its institutional and organizational capacity to meet the training needs of students, the labour market and the community of the Near North. As such, it will be used to prepare an application for assessment by the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board of Ontario (PEQAB).

The project is funded under the Canada-Ontario Agreement on Minority Language Education and Second Official Language Instruction, and by combining it with federal funding, it represents a double vote of confidence from both levels of government.
