Ramadan is in full swing for Franco-Ontarian Muslims  

The month of Ramadan began on April 2nd in Ontario in an environment of festivities and joy of reunion. After 2 years of pandemic, Franco-Ontarian Muslims were happy to be able to fully resume the festivities.   

In fact, Ontario is the province with the most Muslims in Canada. It also has the largest growth rate in this community. 

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar. For the Muslim community, it is the month in which the Koran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, one of the five pillars of Islam. The daily period of fasting lasts from dawn to sunset for 29 to 30 days. The essence of Ramadan lies in its spiritual and human side.
