Visit a National Historic Site in Ontario
Across the country, there are hundreds of locations, buildings, homes, and other sites that are known for their historical significance in Canada. In Ontario alone, there are more than 250 national history sites, 39 of which are administered by
Parks Canada. Entry to some of these sites are free, or low cost, and exploring them during your studies is a great way to get to know more about the province and country you live in.
Some notable sites include the
McCrae House, where famous poet John McCrae lived,
Beausoleil Island National Historic Site, the largest Island in the Georgian Bay National Park, and the
Rideau Canal National Historic Site, which is also a World Heritage Site.
