The Flexibility and Bilingualism of Studying in Ontario

Ontario is the perfect place for students to take on the challenge of becoming bilingual. In fact, Ottawa is home to the largest bilingual university in the world. Students can sometimes choose in which language to hand in their assignments, in French or in English. The institution adapts itself to the level of each student.

In Ontario, 150 different languages are spoken. This allows young people to discover the cultures, accents, customs and gastronomy of various countries.

Along with this, the curriculum is very flexible in Canada. Everyone chooses their own courses. Courses outside of one’s specialty are encouraged. Moreso, the courses in Ontario tend to be very practical and give the students opportunities to gain experience.

Everything is done online. First, you choose your field of study and check the required level. Then, you can apply for admission either through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC) or through the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS). Please note that application fees are not refundable. It is important to remember to include all required supporting documents with your application. Once the offer of admission has been accepted, you must then apply for a study permit. It generally takes two months to obtain it.

The majority of foreign students who come for their education choose to stay after they have graduated. Ontario is looking for French-speaking students heading into occupations such as social services, teaching, health sciences, accounting and marketing.
